Cub Scout Pack 307, Alamosa, is kicking off its annual fund-raising efforts with ticket and gift certificate sales for the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad. The money will go to the scouts for a variety of activities such as handbooks, pine cars for derby contests, admission to activities and events, expenses for campout and other activities, prizes and awards and scout expenses related to re-chartering, Boys Life and other scouting expenses.

The goal for each scout is to sell 20 tickets at $20 each, which is a reduced ticket price for the train. Every boy who sells at least five tickets, raising $100, will receive a Frisbee that he can use during a planned Frisbee Golf Outing later this year, and the more they sell, the more chances they have to receive prizes and awards, with the top scout earning first pick of such awesome prizes as an electric train set, rocket launcher kit, sleeping bag, backpack and a ride in the railroad locomotive.

Scouts will be selling tickets to family, friends, teachers, churchgoers, neighbors and other area residents. They will be going door-to-door as well as selling tickets and taking donations outside the Alamosa Safeway.
